Ric Ocasek's Furniture

Background:

I was shopping in a now-defunct vintage shop on Boyleston Street in Boston. I found this great black suit with tiny white polka-dots. I inquired about it, and learned that Ric's ex-wife Suzanne had put it on consignment there, along with his living room furniture. The store gave me her number, and I called her and arranged to buy the furniture. She was very polite and patient with me, answering a few Cars questions I had and such...she even said that she hoped the couch brought me some inspiration.

About the furniture:

There were originally two couches, a lighted endtable, & glass coffee table. Since I was in college and practically broke, I didn't take the glass coffee table, and I sold off one of the 2 couches to a friend.

THE COUCH is made of black laquored wood, mirrors and a funky grey upholstery. There is a cutaway on the side where you can store things.

THE ENDTABLE is made of black-laquored wood and glass. It is lit from the inside with 4 pink lightbulbs. I don't know if it was the original intention, but I turned it into a great little bar.

All the furniture looks custom made.
